Himachal Pradesh-Uttarakhand,
Lithology and Thickness
Sandstone. Tal Gr is phosphorite-chert-shale-greywacke in the basal parts and thick quartzite in the upper parts.
Relationships and Distribution
Upper contact
Unconformable (angular discordance) with overlying Deona Fm.
Regional extent
This Gr is developed in Himachal Pradesh-Uttarakhand.

Fossils
In Koti Dhaman Fm, Trilobite Redlichia noetlingi (~512-513 Ma), and brachiopods Eoobolus sp., are known from Shale Member (Kumar et al, 1987; Popov et al., 2015). Trilobite traces of Gondwanan affinity i.e., Cruziana salomonis, Cruziana fasciculata, Rusophycus dispar and Rusophycus burjensis are recorded along with Arenicolites isp. and Skolithos isp. from the Lower Quartzite Member (Singh et al., 2020). In Sankholi Fm, Trilobites: Dolerolenus (Malungia) cf. M. laevigata, Drepanopyge gopeni, Protolenella cf. P. angustilimbata of early Cambrian (516-517 Ma) from upper part of the Sankholi Fm in Nigalidhar syncline. A few trace fossils were also known from the Mussoorie and Nigalidhar synclines. In Shaliyan Fm, Precambrian fossil Shaanxilithes ningqiangensis found in the Earthy Siltstone Member (Tarhan et al., 2014); Chert Member yielded Small Shelly Fauna (SSFs) of the Meishucunian age (early Cambrian) in Mussoorie syncline includes Protohertzina- Anabarites assemblage. Diagnostic acritarchs Micrhystridium lanceolatum, Paracymatiospaera irregularis (early Cambrian age) occurs in Chert Member in Korgai syncline.
